Prevention Now! Party with Protection for an AIDS-free Generation
Busboys and Poets, Langston Room, 2021 14th Street NW, Washington, DC / March 6, 2012
Prevent, protect, and start turning the tide against HIV/AIDS with a DJ, a protection-filled piñata, and female condoms all around. To mark International Women’s Day, recognize National Women and Girls HIV/AIDS Awareness Day, and mobilize for AIDS 2012, celebrate something women all over the world are demanding—increased access to female condoms. It’s worth celebrating—the female condom is currently the only available dual protection tool that prevents both HIV/STIs and unintended pregnancy, and is designed for women to initiate. It is available now, it is effective, and most importantly, it is in demand. Join HIV activists and advocates working locally in D.C., nationally, and globally for a screening of Choosing Prevention, a documentary by local filmmaker Martha Dodge on female condoms in Malawi; music from DJ Soul Report DC; and a drink on the house, all in support of creating an AIDS-free generation.
